What information should be found on a good website?

Websites are like almost any other document type, and consist of five parts- body content, headlines, images, credits and navigation. Most web pages contain a minimum of three of these components, and really good ones contain all five. Here, we will explain what information should be part of a good website.

Images

They are the visual component of every web page; they draw the viewer's eye and help encourage them to focus on certain page parts. Most higher-quality web pages have several images which serve to inform and entertain the user.

Headlines

After the image, the title or headline is the most noticeable part of any web page. Most web designers use typography to create larger, more prominent headlines, and good search engine optimization (SEO) practice requires the use of HTML headline tagging to visually and practically represent the headline.

Content

It's what makes up the bulk of web pages, and it's why people come to your page again and again. The layout of your body content can help the reader navigate your page more effectively, and using things like page widths, paragraphs, links and lists can make reading even easier. All of the above parts work together to create content that readers enjoy and understand.

Navigation: Most pages are part of a larger component- the website itself. In these cases, navigation plays a key role in retaining customers and directing them to other parts of the site. Web pages can have internal navigation, especially on pages with an abundance of content. Good navigation helps your readers remain well-oriented and keeps them coming back.

A web page's credits are its informational components outside navigation and content. They are things like date of publication, links to privacy policy, the "about us" section, FAQs, and copyright information. Most pages have this information via links at the bottom, but it can be included anywhere as long as it fits with the page's overall design.
